Gold foil printed on tri-blend cranberry American Apparel. We held nothing back for this eye-grabbing summer night story-maker, printing as large as possible to shine with confidence on top of a soft, textured cranberry weave that shows hints of blue.
The design should be recognizeable to fans of Arizona natives The Young Friends, who make surf pop that transforms even an arid desert into a rockin' beach party. Originally, our idea was to create a lightweight tank top using the typographic TYF impression of the familiar YSL I created. As the project evolved through a veritable rainbow of ink and fabric combination ideas, the design morphed as well into the above.
