The New York City DOT has announced plans to add 50 miles of new bike paths each year “until the bicycle network is complete.” DigitalMass is designed to lend greater visibility to the growing population of bicycle-riders in New York City by tracking where bikers go (using a separate mobile app not pictured here). Data is visualized online and made available for anyone who may have a need for it, offering unprecedented access to valuable information.

DigitalMass is an ongoing project created by Matthew Willse, I was involved in the project during the spring semester of 2012 at Parsons, as part of the MFA Design & Technology program's Internet of Things co-lab course.

Photos above depict output of the team during this formative phase of the ongoing project, and do not represent final iterations or products. I do not claim ownership of all materials pictured above. Fellow team members include: Matthew Wilse, Dan Selden, Navit Keren, Jason Kim, Axel Spendrup, Michael Gonzalez, Galina Rybatsky.
